Best. Thanksgiving. Ever.

This year, we didn't really have anywhere to go for Thanksgiving.  The invitations never seemed to come.  But that's okay because this year was my most favorite Thanksgiving ever!  It was seriously the most relaxing, enjoyable one I've ever had.  The kids were out of school on Wednesday so we headed up to the cabin after Josh got off work.  We ordered a pie from Kneaders (key lime-yum!) so that's where we ate dinner on the way up.  I had a turkey ranch sandwich because I knew it was the only turkey I was getting that weekend.
Thanksgiving morning, we slept in and then lounged around all morning.  Around eleven we headed into Montpelier to get a few supplies that we needed for the chaos that we knew was coming and then came back.
Then we bundled up and headed out to find some Christmas Trees!  It was SO nice because we were the only people on the trails, there was hardly any snow to contend with and we had no expectations.  We just did what we wanted.

We ran into a few moose.  Very fun!

We tried to maim a few trees.

And we threw a few snowballs.

And we saw the most beautiful sights.

After our three(!) hour ride, we came back with one tree and happy faces.
Then it was time for Thanksgiving dinner.  We had...
TACOS!
And they were delishious and more importantly, they only took fifteen minutes to prepare!  Talk about a relaxing Thanksgiving dinner.  We followed dinner up with our yummy pie and then watched a movie with the kids.
A heavenly day.
Best. Thanksgiving. Ever.

All Hallows Eve

Merry Christmas...I mean Happy Halloween!
Yup. It was Holden's turn to be the Christmas Tree.  Kinda sad to see the end of an era.  But he was oh, so, cute!  And a big hit as always.
I had to buy new lights this year.

Jensen the Jedi.

Ally the skiing witch.
Yeah.  I don't get it either...

Logan was MIB.

Definately an interesting mix this year.  But I didn't have to do anything or buy anthing except Jensen's costume so I was fine with it. :)

Waiting in line for the trunk or treat.  Logan got into some trouble with the police.

The weather was AWESOME!  It was seriously the best weather I can ever remember on Halloween.  It made it so much more enjoyable!
Here's a picture of the Christmas Tree lit up in the dark.  Not the best picture but you get the idea of how fun it was.
Not really sure what to say about this picture...
A nice action shot of trick or treating after the trunk or treat.  We ended up driving Ally and Logan to Perry to their friend's houses after this.  It was a busy, but enjoyable night.
I'm afraid this might be my last Halloween with all four of them together.  Ally had a hard time deciding wether to go to her friend's party or stay with us. She ended up doing both, but next year she'll be 14. Sigh. Why do they have to grow up so fast?

October Happenings

October was a busy month for us.  Of course, it seems like we're busy all the time.  But that's okay, I love it!  It's so fun to be living this fun, busy life with my kids.
Jensen lost his two front teeth!

Logan had a Pinewood Derby again in Cub Scouts.

His car was winning every heat, until Dad decided to lube the wheels and instead of making it faster, it went slower.  Bummer.

So he ended up with fourth place.  Out of sixteen cars, that was still awesome!

This is how Ally carves pumpkins.  Skirt and all...

Bubby is always the star of the show.

He loved the pumpkins.  A few days before we carved them, he watched a show on TV that talked about how pumpkins decay.  He was devestated and kept saying he didn't want his pumpkin to decay!  So cute!

Yes, we use power tools to carve pumpkins at our house.

Holden thinks it's a little bit too noisy.

Jensen carved his all by himself this year.

Holden wanted  a bat and I carved a cat this year.

Jensen did a scary ghost and Ally did the Brigham Temple.

Logan's was an optical illusion and Josh did a smily face, as always.

Family Pictures

We had our family pictures taken at the beginning of October.  I was so happy with how they turned out!  The rest of this post is just pictures, so enjoy!

Fall Break

Yet again, I am sorry for the delay in my blogging.  I kept trying to add pictures to my blog, but Google said I had exceeded my picture storage.  Apparently the "free blog" is not really free if you use too many pictures.  They wanted me to pay to store more pictures.  Well, me being cheap, I wasn't about to do that! So I was reading another blog and the blogger mentioned that she was going to blog as her husband for a while because Google said she had used all her photo storage.*Lightbulb moment!*  I created a new contributer to my blog named Heather and not Heather B, and now I'm back in business!  Take that Google!
Anyway, clear back in October the kids had their fall break.  We headed up to the cabin for a night and spent some time on the four wheelers.  We went to the same spot we did last year during fall break.  It might be our new fall break tradition.  Although I would like to see what it looks like in the spring and summer, too.
Jensen took this picture for Reflections and won third place at his school.
Silly Bubs.  He LOVES four wheeler rides!
We came around a corner and there were people on the one lane trail coming the other way.  We watched as the guy rolled his wheeler trying to avoid a collision.  He was just fine, but made for a tense few minutes!
We headed back and met up with Brian Rose and his family in Logan.  We went to Firehouse Pizza and then ate, and ate, and ate!  Brian had a coupon for $50 off of a $100 purchase.  We had salads and sandwiches, bread, dessert, and a 3 foot round pizza!  Yes, THREE FOOT!  It was huge and it took two people to carry out.  We have pictures on our phones I'll try to upload later. :)
We went to the Pumpkin Walk and Ally met up with an old friend.  Or should I say alter-ego?  They had some of the set from Willy Wonka in one of the displays.
I liked the "Hunger Games" display.  It's amazing how realistic they can make the pumpkins look!
Holden the Builder.
Jensen Potter.
Logan Incredible.
Allyrella.
It was a fun weekend and we were glad we got to share it with friends.
